I'm interested in the way beautiful images can change and disrupt our habitual ways of thinking and looking — and ultimately change us. My work is very intuitive — almost compulsive at times. I work on each image until I feel everything click into place — that’s how I know a piece has arrived in the form it seems predestined to have taken. I work in series — like chapters in a book or verses in a song, each one feels like it’s part of a whole that’s always growing and surprising me.
My work is informed and inspired by color sensation and minimalist-with-warmth artists like Anne Truitt, Richard Tuttle, James Turrell, Josef Albers, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol Lewitt, Agnes Martin and many more. I’m proud to say it’s up on the walls of collectors in New York, L.A., London, Paris and everywhere in between.
I create my work on a touchscreen with my fingers here in my Portland, Oregon home studio. The techniques I've been developing for a few years are a hybrid of painting, drawing and screenprinting. My images are then printed using pigment ink on thick, velvet fine art,100% cotton rag paper. Each of my prints are an original work, not a reproduction. The completed work is completely archival.
