This series is a celebration of the glorious possibilities of life in cities. The things we can think of, build, do, invent, imagine and create when our energy is poured into a dense, people-rich place. What we can know and learn and appreciate. How amazing it is to see each others' outfits, smell each others' food, hear each other laughing and crying and vacuuming and rocking out. To feel each others' footsteps and washing machine jitters. To look up and wonder excitedly about the endless possibilities behind each tiny window.
This series comes from thinking about the idea of something that’s been tossed aside getting repurposed and reconfigured to make something new and lovely. The “pieces” in this series are meant to evoke discarded paper offcuts or fabric scraps, and to remind us that anything that’s been fractured can be made whole again. But whatever it is won’t be the same: it will be beautiful in a new way altogether, yo. ;)
In this series, I'm exploring the ways that colors and images can create and hold ideas - stories, memories and thoughts. Viewers are invited to associate a particular idea with each image, which they can then bring to mind each time they interact with the image - whether it's through a focused time of intentional contemplation or a momentary ping of acknowledgement as they catch a glimpse on their way.
